Windsurf, boat, and fish on the cool waters of Deer Creek Reservoir. After a day on the water, camp under the night sky at one of several campgrounds, all with spectacular views of nearby Mount Timpanogos.
The Setting
Deer Creek Reservoir lies in the southwest corner of beautiful Heber Valley, at the base of towering Mount Timpanogos. Its cool waters provide some of Utah's finest year-round fishing. Predictable canyon winds make Deer Creek extremely popular for boating, wind surfing, sunbathing, swimming and sailboating. The park offers campgrounds for individual and group camping, and four group day-use areas.
The Facility
Chokecherry and Great Horned Owl campgrounds offer 75 campsites. Chokecherry offers RV sites with full-hookups and tent sites, while Great Horned Owl offers RV and tent sites without hookups. Both campgrounds offer hot showers and modern restrooms.
Wallsburg Bay, located at the southeastern end of the reservoir, is exclusively for group-use camping. East Pavilion, Center Pavilion, and West Pavilion may be reserved individually or together.
Group day-use facilities are available at Sailboat Beach, Petersen, Island, and Rainbow Bay.
Park Features
Deer Creek State Park is located in close proximity to Sundance and Park City resorts. Also, take a trip aboard the Heber Valley Railroad, which travels around the west side of the reservoir. Nearby Wasatch Mountain State Park offers four, 18-hole golf courses and cross-country skiing during winter.
