Golfers seek out Grayson Lake
State Park's 18-hole championship golf course.
The Setting
This 1,512-acre park is situated on 1,500-acre
Grayson Lake in Elliott and Carter counties. Sheer
sandstone canyons and gentle slopes comprise the
1,512 acres of the Park. This site was a favorite
camping area for Shawnee and Cherokee Indians.
The 74.2-miles of shoreline of Grayson Lake range
from gentle slopes, to scenic canyons.
The Facility
The parks spacious 71-site campground is open
from April through October. The campground attracts
many travelers who come to enjoy the four miles
of hiking trails, a public beach open in the summer,
as well as special recreation programs, held daily
Memorial Day through Labor Day. Utility hookups,
a dump station, and two central service buildings
with rest rooms, showers, and laundry facilities
are available.
Park Features
- The highlight of the park for land lovers
is Hidden Cove Golf Course, an 18-hole championship
course that is part of the Signature Series
of six outstanding state park golf courses.
- A launching ramp at the year-round marina
provides boaters access to Grayson Lake. Located
3 miles from the park, a marina has everything
you need for a great day on the lake: rental
fishing boats and pontoon boats, bait, grocery
and rest rooms.
