The Setting
Hamilton Branch is located along the western piedmont
of South Carolina on Lake Thurmond, a popular
boating, fishing and water recreation destination.
The park covers an entire 731-acre peninsula that
provides ample shoreline for fishing. The park's
rolling terrain supports a variety of wildlife
and provides an excellent setting in which to
see the natural beauty of the Savannah Valley
region.
The Facility
- 140 sites with water & electricity for
tent or RV camping, some accommodate RVs up
to 40 feet
- 50 amp electric service available on most
sites
- 40 primitive sites with central water &
no electricity
- Primitive group camping area for organized
groups of up to 400 people
- 8 comfort stations throughout the park with
hot showers and restroom facilities
- 2 dump stations for RV's
- 50-amp service on most sites
- Picnic table
- 2 boat ramps with access to Lake Thurmond
