Experience Beautiful Forests, Rolling Hills, and Abundant Wildlife at Holmes County State Park.
The Setting
Since its opening in 1939, Holmes County State Park has become one of Mississippi’s best loved outdoor retreats. The beautiful hardwood forests and rolling hills are home to abundant wildlife and provide a scenic backdrop for outdoor fun. Built around two lakes covering 88 acres, the park offers diverse activities ranging from fishing, boating and camping to roller-skating.
The Facility
The campground has 28 pads with water and electricity, a bathhouse, laundry facilities and a central dump station. Twelve nicely equipped cabins serve guests who want comfort and convenience, while a designated tent camping area satisfies those who prefer their camping on the simple side. The park also offers a group camp. Day-use facilities include an amphitheater, 30 picnic sites, three pavilions, two playgrounds, a sports field, skating rink, and beach. In addition, the park’s nature trail winds through approximately four miles of the park, providing visitors with a close look at native plants, birds, and wildlife.
