Yuba State Park and Recreation Area, conveniently located in central Utah, offers a variety of recreation opportunities. Warm summer water temperatures, sandy beaches, nearby off-highway vehicle areas, and fishing for walleye, trout and yellow perch attract visitors year-round!
The Setting
Yuba State Park and Recreation Area features a sprawling reservoir with wide sandy beaches.
The Facility
Yuba State Park includes several camping areas: Oasis, Painted Rocks, East and West Beaches, and Eagle View boat-in camping. Oasis Campground offers 19 campsites and seven overflow sites, covered group pavilions with picnic tables, a group camping area, drinking water, modern restrooms and showers, an RV sewage disposal station, loading docks, and boat launch ramp. Accessible restrooms, showers, and a campsite with electrical hookups are available for campground patrons with special needs.
Painted Rocks Campground is located on the east side of the reservoir just off Highway 28, between the towns of Levan and Gunnison. The campground offers 41 campsites and a group camping area with covered picnic tables, restrooms, drinking water, and boat launch ramp with loading docks.
North and West Beaches offer primitive camping along the shoreline. Facilities include garbage collection points, restrooms, firepits, picnic tables, and an entrance/fee station.
Eagle View, a 20-unit, boat-in only campground, provides covered picnic tables, tent pads, restrooms, garbage collection points, firepits, solar lighting, reservable boat docks, and a beautiful sandy beach.
Park Features
Many desert plants and animals can be seen throughout the year in areas adjacent to the reservoir. Look for prickly pear cactus, Utah juniper, Indian paintbrush, mule deer, cottontail rabbits, coyotes, bald and golden eagles, red-tailed hawks, ravens, and snakes. For more inclusive plant and animal checklists, contact a park ranger. Evidence of Native American cultures can be found in the area. Stone tools, broken pottery, petroglyphs, and other traces of their culture are visible today. Petroglyphs or rock art may be viewed by boat at Painted Rocks just north of the boat ramp. Please leave artifacts untouched.
Camping Tips
In addition to water recreation, the area provides opportunities for rock hounding, hiking, bird watching, interpretive and junior ranger programs, mountain biking, and nearby off-highway vehicle riding. Glass Bottles and Containers - Glass bottles and containers are prohibited on all beaches.
Directions
From Salt Lake: Take Interstate 15 south to Exit 202 - Yuba Lake. Follow the access road approximately five miles to park entrance.
