Park:
Loeb State Park Great Oregon state park campground
on the Chetco River 10 min inland from Brookings
on Hwy 101 in southern Oregon. Customer: M.T.
Park: Sunset
Bay State Park I've been camping here since I was
a little girl, and now I take my own kids(20
years later). And even though the campgroud
has had updates the atmosphere, and outdoor
surroundings have changed little. It's a few
miles outside of Charleston, Oregon, on Highway
101. The hiking is great, and our favorite
spot to veg is at Sunset Beach, or Simpson
Beach, inside the Shore Acres State Park.
I cherish all the memories with my cousins,
riding our bikes, hiking, singing old family
songs, tp-ing all of our great aunts and uncles
as they slept in their trailers (we never
used park tp, we always brought out own).
Hope someone else will make Sunset Bay, part
of their family camping experience. Customer:Heather Eason
Park: Fort Stevens
State Park We first camped at Ft.Stevens State
Park, when my grandson was four years old.
He is now ten, and the summer wouldn't be
complete with out a trip to Ft.Stevens The
Ft.Stevens military reservation guarded the
mouth of the Columbia River from the Civil
Was,until WWII. The park has over five miles
of hiking trail and seven miles of bike trails.
My grandson learnred to ride his bike at Ft.Stevens.
The camp ground is beautiful, and they are
making improvements every year. There is a
lake near by with fishing ane swimming. You
can ride your bike to the beach and see the
wreck of the Peter Iredale. The military museum
is one of the best.On the other side of the
Columbia River is Fort Clatsop National Memorial,
with a new replica of the fort that Lewis
and Clark exposition spent the winter of 1805-06.
I could go on and on, about the history, beauty, and
fun we always experiance at Ft.Stevens. It
just wouldn't be summer without a trip to
Ft. Stevens. Customer:Marcia Higgins
